Bir is about a two-hour drive from Dharamshala, on the way to Manali and the Parvati Valley, so it is a perfect stop for those who want to break up the tiring road. The town is in front of a wide and stunning view and because of this it is the most famous place in India to do paragliding and is known as the paragliding capital of India, which is an experience in itself. In addition, Bir is a great place to practice Buddhism and meditation because in 1960 it became a colony of Tibetan refugees and as a result there is a special Tibetan atmosphere there with restaurants and shops accordingly, and of course Tibetan monasteries.

Following all this, Bir is a town that many tourists from India and the world come to but somehow it has not yet assimilated for the hummus, but it is developed with a wide variety of guesthouses at all levels, good restaurants and modern cafes.

Bir is one of the hidden gems of northern India. It has stayed off the beaten track and retained a sense of authenticity that is hard to find elsewhere in the region.

This is a quiet hill village in Himachal Pradesh, where time moves more slowly, the scenery is breathtaking, and the daily lives of the locals will make you believe you have traveled back in time. Between green fields, local cafes and a strong sense of community, Bir offers a different experience, simple, deep and real.
