How to get there and from where: : The main station of the region is located in Srinagar, from where you can take buses or jeeps to Jammu, the journey takes about 6 hours. Jammu can also be reached from Dharamshala, the journey is a daily journey - it leaves in the morning. Also to the city of Pathankot, from Pathankot there are buses to Manali, Amritsar, Dharamshala and Delhi. The city is two hours away from Jammu.
It is recommended to reach Kashmir by jeep because there are reports that the journey to Kashmir by local bus is difficult, passes through steep roads and sometimes the bus can get stuck due to rock falls on the roads. In addition, in many cases there are not enough seats on the bus and you will have to spend part of the journey standing. But still, remember that this is also an experience.

Kashmir to Leh– Many tourists prefer to skip one of the roads considered the most dangerous, and take a flight from New Delhi directly to the Ladakh airport. However, there are still many tourists who want to take advantage of the beautiful road and of course save on flight expenses, so you can take a jeep from Manali to Leh, usually stopping overnight on the way and continuing on a two-day journey. But if you want to leave Kashmir for Leh, there are two options – a jeep (usually also a two-day journey) or a government bus, the bus leaves at 8 am from Srinagar to Leh, here too the journey takes two days, with an overnight stop in the city of Kargil, arriving in Leh is scheduled for the afternoon of the second day.
Mobility between the mountains and districts in Jammu and Kashmir is mostly buses/semi-sleeper.
Mobility Getting around within the city of Singar – Most of the transportation in the area is by boat, especially the Shikara – an elongated boat that looks like a gondola, is the main and unique means of transportation for travelers in Srinagar. You can rent the boat and sail on your own, but if you are worried, there is an option to hire the services of a local Shikara driver. The boats are large and comfortable and are willing to accommodate 6-7 people.
