Ravalsar Lake is a small lake surrounded by green hills, located near Mandi and on the road between Manali/Parvati and Dharamshala. It is therefore both a perfect stopping point for those looking to split this route and an excellent option for those interested in reaching a pastoral and special place off the beaten path.
Nestled among green mountains with a pastoral landscape all around, the lake is certainly a special place. It holds great religious significance for all the major religions of India – Hinduism, Sikhism, and especially for Buddhists, who believe that Guru Rinpoche, the spreader of Buddhism in Tibet, used to practice Buddhism and meditation there before embarking on his journey to spread the Torah in the Diaspora.
As a result, a small tourist town arose around the lake, with mainly lots of restaurants and tourist stalls, guesthouses, Hindu and Sikh temples, and two Buddhist monasteries (which also have guesthouses).
The atmosphere at Lake Revelsar is pleasant, calm, and extremely inviting.
